Originally from California, Emma splits her time between the Sierra and Alaska — her career rooted in ski mountaineering, backcountry travel, and high-elevation expedition work.
She guides Denali expeditions and programs in the Alaska Range with the Alaska Mountaineering School and serves on Ski Patrol at Mammoth Mountain during the winter.
Her work also extends into outdoor gear design, specializing in pack development, prototype construction, and ultralight systems — supporting small outdoor brands through production.
She holds a BFA in Product Design from the University of Oregon, with a focus on functional craftsmanship informed by real-world mountain experience.
